wrote numerous books and articles on SFT. This particular
book offers great insight into the thinking behind the approach.
Working With the Problem Drinker (1992) by Insoo Kim Berg & Scott Miller: This book provides a great example of how the approach can be useful in working with substance abuse concerns. More important, it also provides a clear demonstration of how the solution focused approach works in general.
Signs of Safety (1999) by Andrew Turnell & Steve Edwards: A solution and safety oriented approach to child protection casework. If you work in child protection and want to develop a new and more helpful model of practice, this book is good place to start.
Solution Focused Brief Practice with Long Term Clients in Mental Health Services (2007) by Joel Simon & Dr. Thorana Nelson: A clear, well-written book that demonstrates how SFT can be used effectively in mental health settings.
